DAVID C. JAMES known professionally as DJ SuperDave, is a Jewish American DJ, Media Personality, A&R Record Executive, Songwriter, Record Producer, Promotions & Marketing Executive, Talent Agent and Single Father to 9 Children. Born in Newport News, Virginia and raised in the New Jersey Shore of Manalapan, New Jersey. DJ SuperDave first gained prominence as a Radio DJ Personality and Street Team Innovator in the 1990s on Seattle’s Hip Hop radio station KUBE 93. His popularity later prompted many Seattle Millionaires to hire SuperDave as the DJ for their Family Event Celebrations and garnishing him as one of Seattle’s Wealthiest DJ’s. After gaining A&R Executive credits, by discovering Second Nature who were a male R&B Boy Band from Seattle, Washington consisting of members; Darnel Alexander, David Booker, Leland Allen and Jason Turner. SuperDave was introduced to the group Second Nature from the Quijano Brothers in Seattle, at an audition for the TV syndicated talent show, Star Search. SuperDave then introduced Second Nature to Seattle Seahawk All Pro Defensive Back Eugene Robinson. Eugene Robinson, had a Record Label Distribution Deal with Heads Up-Concord Records, who then signed and launched Second Nature’s only album, titled What Comes Natural, released in 1995. The group also experienced Major Radio Airplay on hundreds of stations and video airplay on BET and MTV which led too traveling, touring and performing in all 50 States of the United States of America. After Second Nature disbanded, SuperDave, then transitioned into Executive VP of Crazy Pinoy Promotions, breaking new artists, curating and promoting many other Major Label Artists, new released Hollywood Films & TV projects which then lead to the formation of his own companies Street Team Promotions and Hollywood Talent Showcase. Currently, SuperDave is serving in the role as Executive Producer with Nick James Music Group which was acquired by Sony ATV Publishing with a Songwriter Publishing deal. As accomplished A-List Music Songwriters & Producers for Tori Kelly, Justin Bieber, The Band Perry, Big Time Rush, Nick Cannon, The School Gyrls, JLS (UK Group) and many others.
With an impressive resume, iconic track record and focused business mindset, SuperDave has also worked closely nurturing major label signed recording artists such as; Zendaya, Becky G, Tayla Parx and John Lindahl in there early stages of Artist Development. SuperDave likens his role in the Music Industry as a influencer with earned certification. SuperDave continues to demonstrate what he has achieved at a level of competency for creating and delivering safe and effective programs for his clients, his intention is too motivate clients by collaborating to set goals, providing meaningful feedback and by being a reliable source for accountability. SuperDave, also conducts a variety of assessments beginning with a pre-participation screening and may also include assessments to observe and gather relevant information needed to develop an effective Entertainment Career pursuit and support client goal attainment. These assessments may be performed at the beginning of and after the program to measure client progress toward improved achievements. SuperDave, also provides education on many other aspects about Record Labels, Publishing, Radio Stations, Film & Television, Internet, including general guidelines. Helping clients to reach their full potential in various aspects of life requires a comprehensive client-centered approach along with a belief that clients are resourceful and capable of change, growth and goal accomplishments. SuperDave motto is “Don’t forget about the Business in the Music Business” which is a call to action, a mission and a resource – containing workshops, panels, and online discussions – designed to help upcoming artists, producers, songwriters and music business entrepreneurs build a strong foundation for their success in the music space. There are a lot of talented people out there that don t make it to the next level and are never heard. SuperDave’s goal is too give musicians a good foundation to be ready for when opportunity knocks, but also too bring opportunity to their door!
